- If you forget to tip, you will automatically receive the away team as your tip for each match, with a maximum of 5 correct tips able to be awarded. For the featured match, you will receive the average margin difference for that game.
Please note an auto-tip for the winning team will not count as a correct tip if any of the following apply:
- You have already achieved 5 correct tips from manually submitted tips.
- You have already achieved 5 correct tips from auto-tips.
- You have reached 5 correct tips through any combination of manual tips and auto-tips.

3. Tipping
Score System
For every tip you get right you are awarded 1 point.
In every Round there is a featured Match in which you are to select the winning margin for that match. This will be used as a tiebreaker if you are tied with any other competitors.
The difference between your predicted margin and the actual margin for the feature match is accumulated throughout the year.
Forgot to Tip?
If an entrant:
a. Does not submit a tip for a specific match in a round, their tip for that match will be automatically assigned to the team determined by the promoter to be the away team (“Auto Tip”).
b. Does not submit tips for all matches in a round, all tips for that round will be assigned to the away teams, up to a maximum of 5 correct tips per round.
c. Joins after the season has started, tips for matches already completed will be assigned to the away teams, also up to a maximum of 5 correct tips per round.
Important:
An Auto Tip will not count as a correct tip if:
- You have already achieved 5 correct tips for that round from your manually entered tips, or
- You have already reached 5 correct tips for that round from Auto Tips.
This means that, regardless of how many tips are correct, the maximum number of correct tips per round is 5, including any Auto Tips.
For the featured match, if you miss your margin prediction, you will be allocated a margin based on the average of all submitted predictions.
Late Registrations
If you join the competition after the season has started, you will receive one correct tip for each winning away team for all rounds up to your registration, still subject to the 5 correct tips per round limit.
Results
Results are released at the completion of each Match. Usually allow about 15-30 minutes after the completion of a Match for the Results to be published on the site. The Overall Rankings and Competition Ladders are generally updated by 6.00am the next day after the completion of each Round.
| Result | Score |
|---|---|
| Correct Tip | 1 point |
| Incorrect Tip | 0 points |
| Drawn Match | 1 point |
Margin Prediction Score
Entrants are required to enter a margin for every round of the season. The margin game for Opening Round to Round 24 will be the first listed match of the round.
An Entrant will receive a Margin Difference score each Round based on the accuracy of their prediction. For example, if they tip a team to win by 10 points and they only win by 5, their weekly Margin Difference score will be 5 points. If they tip a team to win by 10 points and they lose by 15, their weekly Margin Difference score will be 25 (the difference between your prediction and the actual score).
Each week the Margin Difference score for the Entrant will be added to all of their past Margin Difference scores to provide their "Cumulative Margin"
4. Gauntlet
Gauntlet is a separate competition within the Tipping platform. It begins in Round 7 and requires each Entrant to select one team per round to win their respective match.
If the chosen team wins, the Entrant progresses to the next round.
If the team loses or the entrant fails to submit a tip, they are eliminated.
Entrants may only tip each team once during Gauntlet. The competition continues until there is one remaining Entrant who has not been eliminated, or until the conclusion of Round 24.
Tiebreaker: If multiple Entrants remain at the end of Round 24, or if all remaining Entrants are eliminated in the same round, the winner will be the Entrant who submitted their Round 7 Gauntlet tip first.
5. Streak
Streak Game is a separate competition within the Tipping platform. It begins in the Opening Round, and challenges Entrants to build a streak by tipping consecutive correct matches. Entrants may tip as many matches as they like from the schedule, with untipped matches not affecting their streak.
Eligible entrants participate by accessing the Streak section of the website and tipping at least one match within the designated time frames. Entrants may tip as many matches as they choose from the schedule; matches that are not tipped are not counted.
Scoring
- Each correct Streak tip earns the Entrant 1 point, and points from consecutive correct tips accumulate to form a Streak.
- An incorrect tip scores 0 points and ends the current Streak at the last correct tip total.
- A new Streak begins with the next correct tip.
- An entrant’s longest streak is recorded as their Streak Tipping Total (‘Longest Streak’)l, which is used for leaderboard rankings.
Example:
| Match | Tip | Result | Current Streak | Longest Streak |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Home | Correct | 1 | 1 |
| 2 | Away | Correct | 2 | 2 |
| 3 | Skipped | Skipped | 2 | 2 |
| 4 | Away | Correct | 3 | 3 |
| 5 | Home | Incorrect | 0 | 3 |
| 6 | Skipped | Skipped | 0 | 3 |
| 7 | Home | Correct | 1 | 3 |
| 8 | Away | Correct | 2 | 3 |
In this example, the entrant’s current streak is 2, while their longest streak remains 3 for ranking purposes.
Leaderboard and Rankings
Eligible entrants are ranked on the Streak leaderboard on the website based on their longest streak. Rankings reflect all participants in the Game, including those who are not eligible entrants.
Tiebreakers
If multiple entrants have the same longest streak:
- The entrant with the fewest skipped matches will be ranked higher.
- If a further tiebreak is required, the entrant submitted their Streak tip for Round 24 first will be the winner
